Freedom Fridays: Limit your resources
(Part of a series about journalism entrepreneurship.)
Money: It’s the mother of all deadlines. Fortunately, deadlines are the mother of necessity, and inventions are the mother of money. You can do the math from there.
The point is, if we all had all the money we thought we needed, we’d still be living in caves. (Caves with beautiful fur pelts on the walls and lots and lots of wood for the fire pit.) Scarce resources are necessary for innovation.
Yes, you need capital to start with, and you need revenue. And everything (including making money) will take longer than you think it should. But when you start a business, you do not want to be confident that you’ll have enough time to succeed.
That’s the last thing you want.
Just do it.
